Works in Rethymnon in the New Year

The Public Power Corporation (DEI) will start work in Rethymnon in the New Year, followed by Rethymno Municipality

works DEI will begin work to replace the antiquated network in the old town of Rethymnon after the holidays, so as not to impede the Christmas traffic, which would also affect shops.

Unfortunately this delay may mean that DEI will not be able to complete work during the winter, meaning that subsequent pavement repair works by Rethymnon Municipality may not be finished before the start of the tourist season. In order to avoid such problems, the Municipality may postpone the restructuring of the Square of the Unknown Soldier (Plateia Agnostou Stratioti), which also forms part of its programme.
