French sailors destroy the Greek flag in Chania

Two young French crew members of a French warship anchored in Suda Bay took down the Greek flag flying over Chania cathedral and destroyed it. The two sailors were arrested by the police, while a third person ran away with the flag. He gave himself up a short time later and all three culprits were led before the public prosecutor.
