Cretan airport fees reduced

Landing, takeoff and stopover fees are to be reduced by 50% at the National Airports of Chania, Heraklion, Rhodes, Corfu and Cos. The decision, signed by Minister of Transport Mr Michalis Liapis, states that the discount applies between 1 October and 31 March of each year.

Mr Liapis said that this was part of general government efforts to promote tourist development. He noted that the measure will contribute to the country’s tourism, leading to a rise in off-season visitor numbers and providing incentives for airlines and tour operators, with special tourist packages to Greek destinations.
