Murder in Agia Galini

Murder involving multiple nationalities in Agia Galini

A 24-year-old inhabitant of Agia Galini knifed a 29-year-old Georgian for the sake of a girl from Uzbekistan. The two men, each in a separate group, were sitting in a cafe in Agia Galini where the Uzbek girl worked as a waitress. They were both interested in her and quarrelled. They took the fight outside, and the young Cretan knifed the Georgian in the thigh. Unfortunately the knife cut the femoral artery and the man bled to death.

The Cretan ran away and hid to avoid arrest, but finally gave himself up at the local police station next day, together with two friends who had also taken part in the fight and who will now face charges of being accessories to murder.
