Greek Songs and Greek Music is a new website created at the end of June 2009.
Yannis Samatas, the same person who created Crete Gazette and “Explore Crete”, has recently started a new website; this time it’s about Greek music.
We have published the first featured articles about Greek Music, a tribute to the great Greek Composer Manos Hadjidakis, as well as to our beloved singer Haris Alexiou.
There are also several Greek songs published, each one with a video from Youtube and lyrics translated in English.
We add 1 song or article on a daily basis and we aspire at creating the largest collection of Greek songs, covering all possible genres and eras of the Greek Music, as well as informative featured articles about music genres, Greek dances, Greek Singers and composers or lyric writers.
All songs included in the blog feature their lyrics translated in English, as the blog aims at making Greek music and songs approachable and available to foreigners who love the music but are not familiar enough with the Greek Language.
We hope that you will enjoy it and embrace it with the same love as Crete Gazette and Explore Crete.
